CAMARA JONES, M.D., M.P.H., PH.D.,

JOINS DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH

 


 

Dr. Camara Phyllis Jones is the DeKalb County Board of Health’s newest board member.  She will represent Atlanta residents who live in DeKalb County.

Dr. Jones is a family physician and epidemiologist whose work focuses on racism’s impact on the nation’s health and well-being.  She is a senior fellow at the Satcher Health Leadership Institute at the Morehouse School of Medicine.  In November 2014, Dr. Jones became the president elect of the American Public Health Association.

“I am excited that Dr. Jones is a member of the DeKalb County Board of Health and look forward to working with her,” said District Health Director S. Elizabeth Ford, M.D., M.B.A.

“Dr. Jones is a great example of one who promotes wellness through care, education and example, and it will be my privilege to work with her in service to those who live, work and play in DeKalb County,” said Arlene Parker Goldson, chair of the DeKalb County Board of Health.

The DeKalb County Board of Health’s board establishes broad agency directions and priorities; adopts policies, rules, regulations and annual budgets; and reviews the agency’s performance.  Its meetings are open to the public.

  • You may experience delays reaching our Call Center, which handles health center appointments.
  • WIC benefit issuance is unavailable at this time. However, eWIC cards can still be used at authorized WIC vendors.


This outage has not only affected DeKalb Public Health, but other government and business services, in Georgia, throughout the nation and internationally.
