Fresh Surprises in Store at Your Local Farmers Markets

DECATUR, Ga. – The summer grilling season is here. Instead of breezing through your supermarket’s produce section, the DeKalb County Board of Health encourages you to explore the treasures of fresh, local produce–and so much more–at your nearby farmers market.

The Tucker and Stone Mountain farmers markets feature fresh fruits and vegetables and locally made crafts. Come meet the farmers and craftspeople, while sampling a wide variety of foods in a family-friendly venue.

There’s no better way to strengthen your community than to shop and eat locally. By visiting your area farmers markets, you’re supporting local farmers, as well as other businesses and community members.

The Tucker Farmers Market, located at 2333 Main St., is open every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Stone Mountain Farmers Market, located in the municipal parking lot at 922 Main St., is open every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Cash, credit cards and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) / EBT benefits are accepted. SNAP dollars used to purchase eligible foods will be doubled, dollar for dollar.
