Refugee Health

The Refugee Health Program provides screenings and care to newly arrived refugees in DeKalb County. By identifying and treating health conditions, we promote refugees’ successful resettlement. The program also serves other groups.

The following are eligible for services:

  • Asylees
  • Cuban/Haitian entrants
  • Immigrants*
  • Parolees
  • Refugees
  • Victims of international human trafficking

Services include:

  • Health screening
  • Immunizations
  • Interpretation and translation
  • Management of parasites and their eggs
  • Tuberculosis (TB) assessment and management of latent TB
  • Referrals
*For immigrants seeking an adjustment of status, Civil Surgeon services include:
  • Medical exam
  • Completion of I-693: Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record
