Diabetes Prevention
For individuals with prediabetes, the Diabetes Prevention Program provides education and support to prevent or delay developing type 2 diabetes. This proven curriculum is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Diabetes Prevention Program.
Participants work with a trained lifestyle coach over a 12-month period. The coach offers education and leads group discussions on:
- Eating a healthy diet.
- Becoming more physically active.
- Maintaining a healthy weight.
- Managing stress.
- Staying motivated.
- Working together to meet challenges.
