STI Screening and Treatment

We offer prevention, testing and treatment services for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). All services are 100% confidential.

 

Prevention

Education

Communicable Disease Specialists provide education at each of our health centers and in the community. They offer information about sexually transmitted diseases and how to stay safe from infection.

 

Immunizations

We provide immunizations to prevent many infections and diseases. This includes those that are acquired through sex or intravenous drug use, such as:

 

  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Human papillomavirus (HPV)
  • Meningitis
  • Mpox

 

Appointments are preferred. Walk-ins are welcome. Fees are on a sliding scale.

 

Free Condoms at Health Centers and in the Community

Free condoms are available at all of our health centers and in the community.

 

Free Condom Kits by Mail

We mail free, discreetly packaged kits containing condoms of mixed sizes, a tube of lubricant and dental dams.

To receive a kit, you must:

  • Live in DeKalb County
  • Provide a street address (No P.O. boxes please.)

  • Only requests to DeKalb County addresses will be filled

Testing

Testing at Health Centers and in the Community

Testing is available for:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Herpes
  • HIV
  • Syphilis
  • Trichomoniasis

Testing is also available for many lesser-known STIs.

 

Free At-Home STD/HIV Testing Kits

We partner with Simple HealthKit to provide free at-home STD/HIV testing kits. You can pick one up at any of our health centers or click here to order online and have one mailed confidentially to your home.

 

Counseling and Partner Notification

A Communicable Disease Specialist will notify you of the results and provide counseling. If you test positive, the specialist will provide information on treatment. They will also notify your partner(s) of the possibility of exposure to infection. Partner notification is confidential and anonymous.

 

Treatment

Treatment for STIs other than HIV is provided by appointment at our North DeKalb, East DeKalb, T.O. Vinson and Clifton Springs Health Centers.

Treatment for HIV/AIDS is provided by appointment at the Ryan White Early Care Clinic in the Richardson Health Center.

AIR QUALITY UPDATE 

Current weather models show that winds will begin to shift
from the east to the west after sunset on Wednesday.

Smoke from the BioLab facility fire in Rockdale County is predicted to settle towards the ground as it moves toward Atlanta. There is a high likelihood that people across Metro Atlanta will wake up on Thursday morning seeing haze and smelling chlorine.

Warning SERVICE ALERT UPDATE Warning

DeKalb Public Health will resume normal operations
for all health centers and services at 8:15 a.m.,
on Monday, September 30.

SERVICE ALERT 

Due to today’s worldwide cybersecurity outage, some services have been impacted.

  • You may experience delays reaching our Call Center, which handles health center appointments.
  • WIC benefit issuance is unavailable at this time. However, eWIC cards can still be used at authorized WIC vendors.


This outage has not only affected DeKalb Public Health, but other government and business services, in Georgia, throughout the nation and internationally.

We apologize for the inconvenience and greatly appreciate your patience, as we work with our partners to fully restore systems.
