Notice of Hearing on the Proposed Amendment to the
DeKalb County Clean Indoor Air Ordinance
The Board of Health of DeKalb County, Georgia, hereby gives notice of the following:
A hearing will be held on April 21, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. in the E.L. Richardson Health Center, Bohan Auditorium, before the Board of Health or its designee concerning the DeKalb County Board of Health’s proposed amendment to the DeKalb County Clean Indoor Air Ordinance.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive comments on the proposed amendment to the DeKalb County Clean Indoor Air Ordinance (DeKalb County, Georgia, Code of Ordinances, Chapter 16: Miscellaneous Provisions and Offenses, Article VI: Offenses Against Public Health, Division 2: Clean Indoor Air).
The amended ordinance expands the list of places where smoking is prohibited and addresses smoking outdoors.
A copy of the proposed amendment is available for inspection by the public at the Office of the Director, DeKalb County Board of Health, 5th floor, 445 Winn Way, Decatur, Georgia 30030.
At the hearing, interested parties may present data, make a statement or offer a viewpoint or argument orally or in writing. Participants in the hearing are asked to register on arrival and to notify the registering official of their intent to give a statement.
Oral statements also shall be submitted in writing for the official record.
Any interested parties may submit their statements in lieu of a personal appearance by mailing a copy of the same to the Director, DeKalb County Board of Health, P. O. Box 987, Decatur, Georgia 30031, on or before the date set for the hearing or within five (5) working days thereafter.
Notice is hereby given this 7th day of April, 2011 by the order of the Board of Health of DeKalb County, Georgia.
