Georgia CEAL RESTORES
The center also participates in Georgia CEAL RESTORES.* This initiative is funded through the National Institutes of Health’s CEAL and is led by the Morehouse School of Medicine.
Georgia CEAL RESTORES focuses on diabetes prevention and develops programs for families in Bibb, DeKalb, Fulton and Houston Counties. The goal is to gain insights into their knowledge of and experience with type 2 diabetes to develop effective prevention strategies. The initiative also provides Mental Health First Aid and community empowerment training.
Georgia CEAL RESTORES was previously known as Georgia CEAL.
In 2020-24, Georgia CEAL examined why COVID-19 disproportionately affects certain communities. The center’s team supported partners’ activities to promote prevention and to increase awareness of long COVID among these groups.
Through civic engagement and partnerships with residents and organizations, Georgia CEAL RESTORES advances health equity and drives lasting changes in underserved communities.
